April 29 16:00, online via Zoom.
I will discuss some of the most popular methods of Tibetan Divination, chiefly dice and mālā divination. One important aspect of divination is its unique terminology, which is not so much concerned with Buddhist concepts like karma, but rather speaks the language of “fortune.” Finally, introducing that language will afford me the chance to describe divination as an instance of “religious contact.”
