Khenpo Chöying Dorje will be a guest of the Khyentse Center, Department of Indian and Tibetan Studies, UHH, from January 15–17, 2019. Khenpo Chöying Dorje, a student of Khen Rinpoche Kunga Wangchuk and Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, studied in Dzongsar Institute, HP, North India (1992–1998), where he received the śāstra und ācārya academic titles. Khenpo Chöying has been teaching at Dzongsar Institute since 1999, and in 2002 he was nominated as a Khenpo. In 2011 he was a visiting scholars at UC Berkeley. During his stay Khenpo will offer three sessions of readings and discussions on “Texts and Ideas of the ‘Freedom from Four [Kinds of] Attachment’ (zhen pa bzhi bral) in the Sa-skya School of Tibetan Buddhism and Beyond.” The reading sessions will take place at the Department for Indian and Tibetan Studies, Alsterterrasse 1, Room 106, as follows: Tue 15.01 at 14–16, Wed 16.01 at 10–12, and Thu 17.01 at 10–12.
